Biography
Professor Kuno has studied superfluorescence (SF) from superlattices of self assembled, semiconductor nanocrystals. SF represents a potential source of high brightness, entangled photons with applications in quantum information science. Notable aspects of SF include potential room temperature generation and the ability to engineer the collective SF response of individual nanocrystals through their size, electronic properties, surface chemistry, and even superlattice morphology.
