Biography
Within quantum research, my work focuses on quantum error correction, particularly on quantum low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes. Quantum error correction is essential for building reliable quantum computers. Quantum information is extremely sensitive to noise and interactions with the environment, which can introduce errors and corrupt quantum states. Quantum error-correcting codes protect information by encoding logical qubits into multiple physical qubits, allowing errors to be detected and corrected without directly measuring the encoded quantum information. Developing efficient quantum codes is one of the central challenges in quantum computing, as it can substantially reduce the physical resources needed for fault-tolerant quantum computation. Quantum LDPC codes are particularly promising because their sparse structure offers the potential to protect quantum information efficiently, reducing the number of physical qubits required for large-scale quantum computing.
